Application Overview
The 374GC / 395GC are large mining excavators that use a hydraulically driven cooling fan. The fan motor is a hydraulic motor supplied by the engine-mounted fan pump, driving the radiator cooling fan with auto-regulated speed based on coolant/hydraulic oil temperature, providing fuel savings and reduced noise. The fan motor on these platforms is typically a piston-type hydraulic motor (Gp-Piston).
Common Faults & Troubleshooting
Fan not rotating / abnormal speed: Measure fan motor inlet pressure/flow. If pressure is normal but fan doesn't turn, indicates internal motor wear. If pressure/flow is insufficient, check fan pump, filter, and oil circuit.
Variable-speed failure: Faulty solenoid valve or abnormal electronic control signal.
Abnormal noise / squealing: Worn bearing, air ingestion (cavitation), or contaminated oil.
Oil leakage: Aged shaft oil seal or worn O-rings.
High oil temperature: Severe motor internal leakage generating heat.
Repair & Purchasing Recommendations
Light wear: Replace oil seal + seal kit
Severe scoring: Replace rotating group parts or motor assembly
Fill with hydraulic oil before starting after reassembly
