The CAT E320D Travel Motor / Final Drive Assembly is the core chassis drive component for the classic CAT 320D medium excavator. It integrates a piston hydraulic motor with a 2-stage planetary gear reducer and a wet parking brake, and supports automatic two-speed travel.

| Working Principle | High-pressure oil from the main pump drives the piston motor. Torque is amplified by the planetary reduction gear to rotate the drive sprocket. The built-in parking brake locks automatically when the machine stops to prevent sliding on slopes. The 2-speed valve automatically switches between low speed for heavy loads and climbing, and high speed for relocation. |
