Travel Motor Assembly Final Drive Gearbox 21T-27-00400 21T-27-00410 21T-27-00402 For Komatsu PC2000-8 Excavator Spare Parts
Travel Motor Assembly Final Drive Gearbox 92480040 90603140 For Komatsu PC4000-6 Excavator Spare Parts
Product Overview
The travel drive assembly (Final Drive) of Komatsu PC2000-8 large mining excavator integrates high-pressure piston travel motor and heavy-duty multi-stage planetary gear reducer. Mounted at the end of track frame, it drives the sprocket and tracks. The planetary structure amplifies motor output torque to adapt to heavy mining loading and long-distance climbing. Built-in parking brake automatically locks tracks when hydraulic pressure is lost to prevent machine sliding.
Common part numbers: 21T-27-00402, 21T-27-00410, 706-7L-01110. The assemblies of PC2000-8 and PC2000-11 differ in flange dimension and internal gear parameters, not interchangeable. Left and right travel assemblies share the same part number.
Common Failures
Abnormal travel noise: Pitting or broken teeth on sun gear and planetary gear; worn bearings and damaged cage; insufficient or contaminated deteriorated gear oil in reducer.
Weak travel on one side & track deviation: Internal leakage caused by worn pistons and slippers of travel motor; stuck parking brake that cannot fully release; low pressure of relief valve.
Overheating of travel reducer: Increased friction loss from worn gear pairs; overfilled / insufficient or deteriorated gear oil; heat generated by motor internal leakage.
Oil leakage on housing: Aged and damaged output shaft oil seal and joint gaskets; blocked breather raises internal pressure and damages seals.
Track locked and cannot rotate: Seized planetary gear or broken gear teeth; stuck brake piston, parking brake fails to release.
Purchasing Recommendations
Verify the stamped part number on old assembly and model PC2000-8 before order. PC2000-8 final drive cannot replace PC2000-11 or PC3000 series final drive directly. Left and right travel assemblies have identical part numbers.
New assembly or remanufactured assembly are available. For remanufactured final drive, request factory load test report and confirm warranty period.
Replace full oil seal and gasket kit during installation. Fill with dedicated reducer gear oil and clean hydraulic circuit to avoid premature wear of new assembly.
Inspection upon arrival: Check housing for dents and cracks, intact flange and oil ports with all ports well capped. Perform no-load and load test before installation to check noise, temperature rise and brake performance.
Storage requirement: Store horizontally in dry and shaded area, seal all oil ports against dust and moisture.
